Five stars for this place! Wasn't sure what to expect but was keen to go to an independent coffee shop with a friend for lunch, rather than a chain.
You would easily pass this place if you didn't know it was there, with the entrance tucked around the corner off the main high street.
The tea room was busy (which is a good sign) but we were able to find a table despite the lunchtime rush. Lots of hot and cold dishes were on offer such as macaroni cheese with garlic bread, quiche, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, chilli con carne and some homemade cakes.
I opted for the macaroni cheese which arrived steaming hot in a little dish. The sauce was creamy and the portion perfect.
You can pay by card here - very useful for when you don't have any cash handy (there is a a small fee for the transaction).
The tea room can get a tad warm, due to the activity in the kitchen but the doors to the garden can be opened to let in a breeze.
Would happily return to this place again. Great friendly staff too. -

Most British people love a good cup of tea. There are a few other tea rooms in Solihull but I think this one is the best, thanks to its fantastic variety of tea, great prices (all drinks are under £2.00 and tea is £1.30) and delicious cake.
As a food lover I thought there was also decent amount of food on the menu that is also simple. I was pleased to know that all the sandwiches are freshly made with your choice of bread (white, baguette, toastie, wholemeal and gluten free.) As well as this some of their cakes are made on site and it tastes even better fresh! The food is filling but not heavy.
One day I would love to indulge in their cakes and tea in their garden, which looks great on a warm Summer and Spring day. Even if the weather is bad don't be disheartened because there is also an indoor seating area which is spacious beautifully decorated. Where better to enjoy great tea and tasty food than amongst other tea drinkers in a fantastic and unique British style setting that only a tea room can have? -

My mom and I stumbled over the Manor House Tea Room and Garden whilst shopping in Solihull. This place is a refreshing change from the chain eateries in Touchwood.
Set at the back of a 500 year old grade II listed building the café is not at all stuffy as it occupies a gloriously light and bright annex overlooking a beautiful walled garden.
The menu is simple but offers a lot of choice. All sandwiches are freshly made with a large choice of bread (white, wholemeal, baguette, toastie and even gluten free.) They also serve jacket potatoes and hot/cold light lunches including cottage pie, pastas, quiches and salads. They also make some of their cakes onsite and the profiterole cheesecake is on my immediate must do list!
The café is extremely clean and the staff were super friendly and efficient. Our prawn sandwich and smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel were perfect. Great pot of tea as well. -

In my review of the Fat Sandwich Co., I called it one of Solihull's best kept secrets, and I'm going to let you in on another one, located just across the street (although also accessible from the High Street). Tea Rooms are not an uncommon sight in the centre of Solihull, but Manor House blows them all away, thanks to its great prices (all drinks are under £2, and tea is £1.30), delicious cake, and, most importantly, their absolutely fantastic setting. On a warm summers day, after shopping till you drop, there's absolutely no where better to go and relax than in their garden, which is so secluded that it's easy to forget that there's a busy shopping street just feet away. Even if it's raining, don't be put off - the inside of their tea room is equally nice, presenting a really quintessential Britishness about it than only a tea room really can.

The Manor House in Solihull is a beautiful example of just how old the town is. It is one of the original structures built in Solihull, and is now a thriving tearoom, enjoyed by many people each day.
They serve a selection of hot and cold snacks and cakes, and getting a table in there on a weekday can be a struggle a testimony to how successful it is!
The Manor House also houses small stalls, and cosmetics and perfume is sometimes on sale there.
The House is on High Street, the main shopping street in Solihull, as well as being right next door to Touchwood.
It is sometimes a missed treasure amongst modern shops, but so worth a visit!
